Welcome to our page. The NZ Black Powder Shooters Federation Inc. is the national body that represents and champions the interests of all black powder shooting enthusiasts, including active shooters, reenactors, collectors and historian buffs.
Our constitutional aim is to promote black powder shooting within New Zealand and to give our members the opportunity to engage in any aspect of the sport that takes their interest in both a safe and responsible manner. We have a very good relationship with NZ Police and Firearms Safety Authority of Aotearoa NZ and actively work with these partners to provide a safe shooting environment for members whilst, at the same time, respecting the needs and wishes of the general public by operating our sport in a safe and responsible manner.
To this end, we can offer support to clubs regarding anything from assistance with range safety and development issues to ideas for staging their domestic competition. In addition, we provide all members with the ability to compete on both the National and International stage.
The Federation hosts a number of events during the year at our centrally located national range complex, Tarrantsville, which is located north of Taumarunui, in the central region of the North Island of New Zealand. These include National Championship events and also more traditional Rendezvous style events.
